2016!

Well. After Christmas, Madeline's birthday, Chris's birthday and New Years I feel like Mr. Fat Cat above. Lots of yummy food and celebrating. Too much!

Thank goodness, it's a new year and I can make a resolution to get moving! 

On Maddie's birthday, we went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks with Danielle and Hudson.

We had both sets of grandparents over that night and skyped with tia.

Monday, Chris woke up feeling 100%. After ten solid days of him being planted on the couch, two doctor visits and a hospital trip for an abdominal scan, he woke in pretty good shape. Thank heavens!  It was exhausting for all of us. He dropped some serious weight and has spent the last week eating and training like a man who is running a marathon in 8 days! We don't know WHAT he had but we're just glad it's gone!

We celebrate Chris turning 32 with some bang bang shrimp and some adults only time.

Then, we had friends for over New Years on Thursday.

Before we put the kids to bed, we let Dave play with their Christmas presents.

The marble run has been the biggest hit. It keeps them occupied forever!

Hudson bought Maddie a flying fairy for her birthday which Chris described as, "the coolest toy I've gotten to play with!" (Poor dads of only daughters: there are very few guns, video games, pirates or ninjas in our house!)

Chris and Dave spent a solid 10 minutes making the fairy go as high as she could while Maddie jumped up and down below trying to get her toy back. 

We put the kids to bed and moved downstairs for round 2 of food, some drinks and some games.

We had a great time laughing and talking.

Hard to believe it's been over 10 years since these guys were room mates in Lex. 

Took some selfies while we waited for the 2016 countdown.

We had a lazy January first morning. Maddie worked on some lego projects.

Played school.

Did some stain glass work.

(And, in typical Maddie fashion, changed clothes about 4 times. This girl can produce some laundry! She is her father's daughter, that's for sure.)

And we had a Chik Fil A lunch.

This week, we've got my birthday and, more importantly, planning for Disney! It's almost time for daddy's race and our week in the middle of the magic! Can't wait! The girls are excited to see tia again. I told her to enjoy her personal space this week because next week, she will definitely be a bit more crowded.
