FIRST day of Kindergarten and Second Grade!

The end of summer came F A S T and the girls started school mid-August.

This was a BIG year for us. Both of our littles are now in elementary school together. We have had a great beginning to this school year and are excited to watch them learn and grow.

I was a nervous wreck about Sydney (would she sit still in the classroom? would she listen? WOULD SHE BE ABLE TO WAKE UP?) and she did amazing. And she loves school more than I could have imagined.

On Monday night, we went to school to meet both teachers. They are literally as sweet as they come.

I almost cried walking them in on Monday night - they were so ready and I was really not!

Both teachers had notes for the girls. Sydney's note included some jitter glitter and Maddie's had some magic confetti. They read their notes the night before school and put some glitter/confetti under their pillows before going to sleep.

Then, on Wednesday, it was time for the real show! We were up early (and my little sleeper Sydney actually did great with her 6 AM wake up!) and took some photos.

No, but seriously, wasn't this last week?

We had some special visitors come see the girls on the bus!

Our bus comes EARLY so we take most of our pics inside. We snagged this one, and had about 14 seconds to spare, because our favorite driver, Ms. Nancy was a few minutes early.

Sydney climbed right on that big bus, so excited.

Our school encourages parents to come on the first day and see the kiddos to their room. We met the bus at school and got all smiles!

Neighbor girls!

Sydney literally walked past me and shouted behind her "You can take Maddie to class mom, I know where I'm going."

I was literally chasing her saying, "I'm taking YOU Sydney!" Several teachers were laughing at her talking about how excited she was.
We all gave little sis a big hug and then Chris and I took Maddie down to her room.

She was a little more reserved because none of her friends were there yet, but she was excited for the first day.

I thought about them all day, but they were happy campers when they got off the bus in the afternoon!

Bus stop friends.

Looking forward to a great year!!

Holiday World Annual Trip

Before school started, Danielle and I took the big kids to Holiday World! We've done this the last several years and it's always so much fun!

For the first year, the kids could actually ride some of the bigger rides by themselves!

We had so much fun and opened and closed the park! We were starving by the time we got to Culver's for burgers, corn dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Sweet Friends. Three years at Holiday World!

ALL THE SUMMER THINGS

It is the eve of a new school year (let's just not talk about that right now) and I'm scrambling getting this blog updated with the last month of pictures! Here's how we closed up summer!

Maddie had her last week at Y camp.

We had a family zoo trip!

We swam with Claire and Collin!

We managed to keep the glasses from breaking...so far. When school starts though...all bets are off!

We went back to school shopping and got things we needed...and tried on things we didn't!

We played with Lizzy and Brooke!

These two are starting Kindergarten - oh my!

We went to Shelby's annual crawfish boil!

Maddie zip lined!

We had more ice cream and saw Hudson and Sloane!

We visited great grandma and had cookies!

We swam at nana and grandpas!

We washed our cars and bikes!

We got a little silly!

We had LOTS AND LOTS of cookies from Sweetness. So yummy.

We mailed travel documents.

We went to the drive-in!

It was a great summer!!
