More Ballet pics and a preschool playdate.

This week went QUICK. Chris is ramping up his race training (11 miles this weekend!) and we've both had some crazy work weeks. He has a short trip next week to New Jersey so I'm hoping this weekend we can relax a bit.

On Wednesday we played at home until dance class.

Thursday night, my ladies enjoyed some Happy Hour time together.

On Friday we met up with Audrey and her mom at House of Boom. Audrey and Maddie have been at Star Academy together since they were babies. They have been in the same class until pre-k and I was so sad they were separated. Audrey's mom, Amy, and I have gotten to be friends over the years so we met up at House of Boom and let them run around together.

We came home for lunch and a little sand art.

I tried to help Sydney but, you know, it's Sydney so that wasn't happening. She kept saying, "I DO IT" and "MINE" in a voice that let me know I was clearly not helping.

Then, we ended up at Audrey's house for more play.

I love watching Maddie develop relationships with her friends.

Looking forward to a great weekend!

A TIA SURPRISE!

On Friday, Chris and I headed to my parent's for dinner. When we got there, they were face-timing with Tia so we jumped in and chatted for a bit.

Madeline, completely unprovoked, said, "I wish you were here tia." And then...tia walked down the steps! She had flown in and surprised us all. The girls were JAZZED.  They were so happy to see her. And she brought gifts!

After a yummy dinner, we had some snow cones.
Loving their time with tia!

On Saturday, daddy and Dave ran 9 miles in preparation for their marathon. The girls and I introduced tia to House of Boom.

She was all over it.

Sydney runs around House of Boom like she owns it.

That night we went to Earth Fare after church. Sydney stood up, with her purse, while she ate.
Side note: HER HAIR! Can you see it? It is coming in! And it is LIGHT. Like, white.

She loved the Sydney-sized shopping cart!

Sunday night we hung out at the Norton Commons Pool with our friends.
 Maddie's crew.

Sydney's crew.

On Monday, I had the day off. We spent the morning with my sister and then did a little shopping in preparation for Sydney's birthday.
Can you believe she is turning 2 soon? STOP IT!

An empty weekend...

On Thursday, Chris and I usually review the upcoming weekend plans. ( Or, also called, I tell him where and when he needs to be places.)

We didn't have one thing on our calendar.

But you know us, can't stay bored for long!

Friday night, the girls had some sugar free popsicles on the patio.
A new word for Sydney: pop-cle. We can't *quite* hit popsicle but she is trying.

Because the girls like popsicles so much I decided to make some. We took some greek yogurt and a handful of berries and froze them. They LOVED them. And, they were healthier!

I even let Sydney have one for breakfast since it was basically a frozen smoothie.
No pants on, pancake in one hand, popsicle in the other. Eating everything while standing up.
Yep, that's Sydney.

On Saturday we went to see Inside Out with some friends.

Maddie was so excited to take Hudson to his first movie!
They loved it…and the snacks!

I tried to get their picture after the show but they wouldn't sit still. Dave had no problem posing though!

Chris needed to do some things around the house so on Sunday, my parents and I took the girls to Huber's.

They enjoyed picking blackberries.

Grandpa showed them how to fill up their buckets.

At first, it went well.

But then Sydney realized she could just eat the berries straight off the bush.

Sydney staring at her empty bucket acting like she doesn't know she ate every berry she picked. Girlfriend looked like she'd been at a crime scene. Red juice ALL OVER her face, arms, hands. It was sticky hilarious.

 Showing off their fruit.

We went into the Family Fun Park and mined for gems.

Then played at the playground a bit.

Went down the mountain slide.

Took a ride on the train.

We also did the bamboo maze but there are no pictures because it was dark, wet and terrifying and we were focused only on getting out. I kid you not.

After lunch it was time to go home. We were hot and tired!

Our "cheese" faces are a little intense.

Since it was National Ice Cream Day we headed over to Kyle and Danielle's (after a nap!) for dinner and then some Graeter's ice cream.

 Fun weekend!

I found this picture and meant to blog about it last week. Last Saturday Madeline got to go to grandma's for a "Maddie" day. They went and had pedicures, went shopping (for new clothes and a new doll) and ended the day with snow cones. She had a great time on her Maddie day!
