A Tea Party and Two Cats Victories!

On Thursday, my mom, grandma, sister and I headed to Sister's Tea Parlor for a little lunch. We had a great time!!

Sister selfie on the way to tea.

Mercedes really wanted us to dress up at the parlor and talk in English accents. We agreed to one of those.

Notice she gave me a really ridiculous hat and picked out a cute bow for her.

The decorations are so nice here!

We each got a pot of tea and then enjoyed lunch together.
YUM!

On Thursday night, daddy and I stayed up to watch the CATS game. We were up by more than 20 pretty much the entire game so it was kind of a snooze fest.
I told Chris that the game was OK but I kind of wanted some suspense. (I ate those words later!)

Friday morning, the girls and I ran some errands.
Maddie got to play dress-up at the Middletown Target.

We bought some egg dye and had a fun time Friday night dyeing eggs!

On Saturday, we ate lunch at Chuys…so good.
Maddie is definitely a Mexican food lover like her mommy. So far Sydney seems to be too!

On Saturday night, our friends Dave and Tara came over to watch the UK-Notre Dame game. It was a nail-biter until the very end. We all were going crazy. Especially Stella.
We're going to the Final Four!!

On Sunday, we headed to Kyle and Danielle's for some play time.
Maddie had just given a big concert but I didn't catch her in time. You can see her walking away from the mic while Hadley and Hudson clap for her.

Lunch!

Kyle and I letting the babies play on the counter together.
Danielle texted me this later and I told her it looked like Kyle and I were married. Sloane and Sydney are going to cause some ruckus later!

Speaking of my youngest, I caught her trying to escape her crib this morning. She had one foot on the rail and was desperately trying to get over. It's gonna be awhile because she's still so little but I hate that she's already trying. I knew she was going to be a crib climber!

Finally, Maddie and I did a little shopping. (and my third child came too).

Looking forward to a great week!

The REAL Cinderella

On Tuesday, grandma and tia took Maddie to see Cinderella. She talked about this all day at pre-school and was so excited for her special date.

After pre-school she changed into her Cinderella gown and the girls headed out.

She got a lot of attention because she was dressed up. I've heard from my mom and sister she was really eating up all of the people talking to her. At one point, she whispered, "They think I'm the REAL Cinderella" with a big smile on her face. HA!

This was her first non-animated film and they said she did great.

While Maddie was at the movies, I was out with my girlfriends at PF Changs. Kathryn was in town so we had a festive happy hour together. I say festive because we can be kind of loud when we go out.

(Chris and Sydney had a daddy daughter date but he didn't get any pictures.)

On Wednesday, Kathryn brought her girls over for a play date. We started out playing outside!

Then we moved in for some tea parties.

Finally, we had a snack which ended up a little messy….

Thanks for coming over Kaylen!

In the meantime, I've been getting my Pure Barre on because
It's actually less at this point…eeek!!

Chris snapped this pic of the girls. We got Madeline a new bookshelf and moved her old one to the playroom. Chris was organizing and it got a little difficult.
Sydney LOVES purses - she is wearing three in this pic. Little girls don't come cheap!

Weekend Wrap-Up

So far, so good. The Wildcats have cruised into the Sweet 16! Between four days of fun basketball games, the Hughes clan was on the run!

Friday, Tia came with us to the library for story time.

We had a fun morning of books, songs, ribbon sticks and bubbles!

We had some playroom playtime. Maddie and I were coloring while Sydney pushed her baby around in the shopping cart. The next thing I knew SHE was the baby in the shopping cart.

 Goodness, she makes me laugh!

On Saturday, we FINALLY got to see great-grandma and Henry! They brought the girls doodle bears. They loved coloring on their new bears (then you can wash them clean and do it again!). Well, Maddie loved coloring her bear. Sydney colored her feet and looked like she'd been to a tattoo parlor after.

Maddie loves playing with her older cousins. Preston is so patient and sweet with her. I found them at one point on her bed and he was reading her library books to her.

Greg was playing with Sydney and said, "She won't stand up will she?" He thought she might be scared of being up so high.

I was getting ready to tell him that Sydney's idea of fun is dancing on TOP of the kitchen table, when of course she stood up.
She's either going to be a tightrope walker or a sky diver. Mark my words, people.

We took a four generation pic!

And a cousin pic!

After the family left, the girls rested a little. Then the CATS game came on, and our buddies came over for a cook-out.

Sydney loves making Sloane laugh!

And climbing. She's climbing on Kyle here.

After the win, we took the kiddos on a walk to Dawn's house. She's our neighbor who always wants the girls to come jump on her big trampoline.

Finally, we called it a day. The girls were worn out!

On Sunday, daddy and I had date night. We had a very romantic date at Drake's watching tournament games. :)  We love our kids but we love adults-only dinners too.

We totally gorged on food so I made my sister walk with me when we got home. We walked at sunset and it was just stunning. The phone never captures what the view really is but I tried.

So, we tried to take a selfie in front of the sunset. Except we blocked out the sun! Whoops.

Great, gorgeous weekend!
