Quick Update!

Well. We got sick. Both Chris and I, against all efforts, came down with a nasty cold (flu?).  It's the total pits when both parents are sick. We were on the S-T-R-U-G-G-L-E bus last weekend and let ours kids watch way more tv than we prefer.

Oh yeah. And then I got a request for 16 people to take a Disney cruise. That leaves in 2 weeks.

So, it's been a little crazy.

Not too many pictures for you guys today.

I had lunch with Maddie. She loves this!
After the winter break, Maddie's school has really picked up. She has sight word tests every Friday, an upcoming play (she's a Yeti...so random?), Donuts with a Loved One for Valentine's day, and a lot more. I'm writing a lot on my calendar lately for this little six year who came home singing, "Call Me Maybe." Someone hold me, please.

Sydney had a rough week. Lots of tantrums. I am not sure if it's because she's in the throes of the terrible three's (which are WAY worse than the two's, let be honest) or if the double dose of steroids made her a little rage-y. Either way, I've been slightly afraid of her.
But, then she looks so cute and I can't resist her.

I've been using my new Instant Pot all the time. Loved this Chipotle copy-cat beef brisket!

Chris and Sydney were resting and I got Maddie (who someone managed to remain completely healthy through this storm!) out with Stella. These two hadn't seen each other in a few months and immediately just picked up like no time had passed. They ate by themselves at Qdoba (Amber and I sat a table over) and had the best time.

Maddie and I came home and she thought it was so funny that Daddy and Sissy were napping together.
Now, isn't that sweet?

This weekend we were invited to four birthday parties, but are only making two. We'll be out of town for most of the weekend but back late Sunday for our annual Super Bowl party. And by "party" I mean we have like six people over. Ha!

A crazy week for little Sydney

We had a pretty good turned bad weekend. The weather jumped up to 70 and we got out and enjoyed it. However, that kind of change never treats Sydney well and we ended up at Kosair. Because, she can never get croup when the doctor's office is open. And urgent care can't treat croup. I digress. 22 minutes later, we left KCMC with a decadron steroid and I thought that would clear it up.

Except not. We found ourselves back at the pediatrician's office a few days later where we were told she had flu H which caused the croup, double conjunctivitis (pink-eye) and double ear infection.

Um, what?

So anyways, we had more steroids and an antibiotic and a few days later, we're feeling much better. (If not a little rage-y due to the double dose of steroids).

But, PRIOR to the sickness that met our deductible 24 days into the plan year, we had a great time!

I had a girls night and Chris took the littles to Graeter's for some cotton candy ice cream.

While I was out with friends, I ran into Sherri at dinner. Sherri is one of my loyalest readers. :)

We loved having a zoo day in January!

Went for a bike ride!

And then...Sydney got every major illness a three year old could get...and we camped up inside. I've been sleeping with Sydney which basically translates to I've been holding her while she coughs in my face.

And now, I'm taking Vitamin C like a boss. Mama can't get sick. Fingers crossed!

3 Day Weekend!

Both girls were out of school on Monday so I took the day off to be with them. Since I don't work Friday's, I had a nice long weekend!

Played some hide go seek Friday morning with my favorite three year old. Sydney hides in one of three places EVERY time. Her first go-to is under the bathroom sink.

Saturday we met K and D for lunch at Citizen Seven.

Sunday, I took Madeline to cousin Gracee's birthday party at The Artist In You. We had a fun time painting and visiting family!

On Monday, we went with two sets of neighbors to House of Boom (now, I don't work Friday's so I'm used to going to House of Boom with about 2-3 other families. It was B-A-N-A-N-A-S because evidently everyone had the same idea to go on Monday!)

The big girls ran around together and I followed Sydney around.

She tore up the ninja warrior course.

This picture got me. I don't really have "babies" anymore. I have little girls. Sigh.

Our crew! 6 girls...and Mason! Poor little guy!

Madison, Lizzy and Maddie - the kindergarten girls. How lucky we are to have such good neighbors and friends!

Then we took the circus to Chik Fil A.

What a great weekend surrounded by friends!

Welcome to 2017!

Let me start by apologizing for my lack of blogging (ahem, Sherri!) but my travel business has kept me hopping!  Without further ado...

If you're wondering what the best $8.88 I've ever spent was...it's on Pie Face. The kids love this game!

We played New Years Eve with Hudson and Sloane!

They also brought over Watch Your Mouth, which Maddie was a huge fan of.

The weather has been COLD and the mild and then COLD so, when it's mild, we like to sneak outside for some fun!

Our matching Saturday sissies continues.

Maddie had her first Snow Day! She went to the neighbors for a bit while I worked and they sledded on the the tiny amount of snow we got. HA!

Maddie made her first Vision Board at school. Her task was to pull in clip art that she wanted in her future. Evidently she needs a mini-van to drive around her litter of golden retriever puppies! She told me she wasn't sure if she was going to be a princess or a teacher so she put picture of both!

We took the new bridge over to Pizza King. Good grief, it makes it SO easy to get to my favorite pizza. This could potentially impede my summer bikini body.

Loving the train!

Then, we surprised my grandma who was so excited to see us. She immediately got out all of the cookie ingredients to make her special cookies.
We weren't mad about it!

Grandma reminded me that I'd been making cookies since I was three years old and was so little I had to stand on a chair next to her.

 Some things never change.

Cheers to 2017! May this be your best year yet!
