A bad photographer...

I got my phone back up and running...but I have been a bad photographer this week! Well, not bad, really, but...not one at all! We did a lot of things, but I just kept forgetting to take pics!

Here are some things I did get pictures of...

The girls have been in their bathing suits almost every day after preschool. They can't wait to come home and run around in the sprinkler and splash in the toddler pool.

And usually, the neighbor girls run over.

Dane and Quinn came for the weekend and the kiddos loved their cousin time. We played for a bit at Norton Commons park.

Saturday afternoon, Maddie helped daddy wash his bike.

Then took her little sis (and 2 build a bears!) for a spin.

That night we had Dan, Sherri and Rolfe over. The kiddos made some weird goop with shaving cream, paint and had a great time making a mess!

Our Jeep car gets a lot of use.

We had a great dinner and dessert outside.

Friends talking over cookie cake.

What a beautiful night! The kids played great together which allowed us parents to actually talk. Great friends and fellowship!

I got a new iPhone! And then I broke it.

On Sunday, I got a new iPhone. I was so excited to return to the real world and actually get group text messages.

Until I somehow forgot my password. (Which I don't think I did b/c I use the same password but I digress. I will stop blaming the iPhone.) And then got locked out of my phone repeatedly...for one minute, for five minutes, for 45 minutes, for 60 minutes while Chris and I tried to think of every password possibility we would have used.

Finally, I had to restore my phone to factory settings, losing all of my contacts in the process. So, that's annoying. Other than that snafu, we had a pretty great weekend.

We ate our first meal of the season outside!

We played with sidewalk chalk.

We shopped at the outlet mall.

Sunday afternoon we went to see my cousin Connor play the male lead in the Thoroughly Modern Millie. He was great!

That night, we met some new friends. Remember when Stella ran away a few weeks ago? I had let the couple know their kids were welcome to come play with Stella any time. Nate and Olivia walked over and brought a ball to throw for Stella. Then they played with Maddie and Sydney. Olivia driving Sydney in the jeep car while Nate played basketball in our driveway with Maddie.

Speaking of Mads, here's a fun little picture. The other morning she woke up and stayed in her bed reading to her friends. She got them all organized in this semi - circle. It was hilarious.
Happy Monday. Back to the grind.

Science Center Fun!

We went to the Science Center for the first time in several months this weekend.
Sydney and I in the climbing wall.

We met Kyle and Danielle and the kiddos played and played.

Sydney played at this large light bright thing for the longest time.

Our gang all squeezed into the smart car.

The kids had a great time, as did Kyle.

 Learning about the five senses.

Maddie has been asking to go to Old Chicago for kids night. We went over a year ago but she still remembered making her own pizza.

This was Sydney's first time and both girls got such a kick out of it.

They both ordered pineapple and did pretty good spreading the sauce and adding the cheese and pineapple.

We really spoiled the girls with a hot cookie a la mode for dessert after they ate their pizza. They can't wait to go back!

A Day Date with Maddie

On Friday, we slept in and lounged around for a bit in the morning.  After four days of starting work at 6 am, it was nice to have an alarm off. I slept in...until the late hour of 7:15. HA! Maddie and I had a date planned so we dropped Sydney off at preschool.

First, Maddie had a much needed haircut. We've been taking her to ShortCuts but Omagi was WAY better. She got a neck massage to start.

Then got her hair washed with a scalp massage. While the conditioner set, she got a hand massage.

We trimmed the dead ends and her hair looked awesome!

She got some braids and then a lip gloss application.

She really felt like a princess! She loved going to the "big girl spa."

We had lunch at Qdoba.
In our matching tops. She picked out our outfits that morning: striped tunics, leggings and pink shoes.

Needless to say, we got a lot of attention.

After lunch we had her kindergarten eye exam. Maddie is a little near sighted and will probably need glasses sometime in the next few years. She's ok now, but the doctor said her eyes are transitioning to where she will need glasses at some point. I kind of figured that was coming. My optometrist told me a few years ago that with both Chris and I having vision problems, our kids would too.

Then! We went to paint pottery at The Artist in You.
Here's the before picture. I didn't get an after picture, but I will post when the pottery is glazed next week. She LOVED this.

We had a great time on our date.

As for little Sydney, a trip to Omagi may be in her future. Yikes! How someone can have so little hair and so much bed head is beyond me.

Happy weekend!

Weekend Recap

Thursday night, I had dinner with my girlfriends. Kat was in town!
Yummy Mussel and Burger Bar!

Chris took the girls to Panera for breakfast for dinner!

We had a lazy morning Sunday and then had lunch at Pizza King. The girls think the train is the coolest!

And we LOVE the pizza. We also get the largest pizza they have so we can take home the extras. YUM.

That night we had Hudson and Sloane over for hamburgers. I bought some confetti eggs on sale at Kroger and we hid those for the kids.

They had fun finding them...

And cracking them on each other!

On Monday, I woke up and the 100 Day Dash started. It's Humana's annual walkathon where we compete against each other to see who can get the most steps. Along the way you can win athletic gear, Apple electronics, gift cards, etc. I was first place for my team last year which means I also got a t-shirt! HA. I'm back to defend my title. Which basically means, for the next 100 days, I'm going to be living this.

I started my full time schedule this week so I'm off to bed early. Work days start early now!
