Babymoon in Bermuda!

Well, back to the real world. We had an AWESOME time in Bermuda! It was great spending the week with Chris and Kyle and Danielle. 

Before we left we had a date with Madeline and let her pick everything she wanted to do. She wanted to eat pizza, go to Barnes and Noble and get ice cream. So we did.

On Saturday we went to Sam's house (a boy in Maddie's class) for a fundraiser. He lives right around the corner from us and they were raising money for Alex's Lemonade Stand--a nationwide charity that raises money for children with cancer. 

Madeline and Sam played in the bounce house together and ran around for about an hour. She had her first glass of lemonade. And was immediately obsessed.

We left that afternoon and drove to New York. The drive honestly wasn't bad at all. We talked most of the way and stopped overnight in Pennsylvania. Mapquest said the drive was about 12.5 hours. We did it in 12 and that included several stops for gas, meals, and letting the pregnant passenger go to the bathroom.

It was only it's 5th sailing and it was the biggest and best ship I've ever been on!

We played mini-golf.

There was an actual ropes course that culminated with you "walking the plank" which was a a board that extended 8 feet beyond the side of the ship.

We were on the boat for a week and didn't get to do/try everything. I smell another vacation!

We sailed for two days and woke up to this view on Wednesday morning.

Bermuda was perfect, again. Chris's one request was that we hike the South Shore beaches again so he could take pictures. It's a beautiful one mile stretch of beaches. You walk in and out of coves and get some great shots.

Kyle and Chris climbed up every rock they could. I'm only including a small, small few of the pics they took here.

The walk ends at the biggest, most popular beach in Bermuda...Horseshoe Bay. We stayed here the rest of the afternoon, had lunch and swam.

On Wednesday night, we took the ferry across the island to Hamilton.  About halfway there, the boat did a u-turn. One of the workers had spotted a huge fish (I think Chris called it a hog fish??) and they decided to catch him while all of the passengers watched. Only on an island.  

We bought an internet package so we could keep in touch with our parents to check on Miss Madeline. Surprisingly, service was pretty good considering we spent three days floating through the Atlantic Ocean.

This trip was great! We know that our lives are about to get crazier with baby girl coming in September so we really enjoyed the time together and have come back refreshed and ready to go back to work. Well, really, just refreshed. Who is ever ready for more work?

Madeline had a great week with her grandparents. She split the week up and got to have a lot of fun! She went to Dane's birthday party (sorry to miss it, Dane!!) who turned four and had a pirate theme party. I don't have any pictures but I know Maddie really enjoyed it. She loves her cousins!

She went to Kids Night, an event our neighborhood hosts every year and had a blast running around. 

This was the first year that we got a big reaction out of her when we came home. Lots of hugs and smiles and laughs. It was so good to see her again!!
