Whitney, 30, Southern Indiana/Kentucky

I have thought about doing this so many other times - so when I saw Kelly’s Korner, SUYL Singles, I decided today is the day. I need to preface this by saying that my friend that I am posting about has no idea I am doing this but I decided that we will worry about that after we find her a match and they fall in love ;)

Meet Whitney.

Whitney is a 30 year old Catholic gal that was born and raised in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, KY area. When I think of how to describe her, the first things that come to mind are passionate, kind, and hard working. She loves to laugh and is very close to her family and extremely loyal to her friends.

When Whitney isn’t hard at work, you can most likely find her working out, cooking or playing with her furry little doggy friend. She also enjoys music, concerts and a good glass of wine. She is completely ok with hanging out at home, having a quiet dinner, but she is also in her element when she is out on the town having a dance party.

One of her latest passions is traveling. Whitney has seen several places in the world but is determined see and leave her mark on the rest of it.

She is truly a wonderful person, with a big heart. Please contact me if you know someone who would connect with Whitney: daniellefertig@yahoo.com

These are a few of Maddie's favorite things...

A few of Madeline's favorites:

Food: any fruit she can get her hands on! Strawberries, blueberries, oranges, peaches, she doesn't discriminate.

Toy: She doesn't have a favorite toy right now- she plays with ALL of her toys every night. She cooks in the kitchen, colors at her table, rides her pony, pushes her shopping cart, plays with her stuffed animals, etc, etc. She is busy, busy!

School Activity: She really enjoys circle time (reading, singing) and outdoor time, from what I hear from her teachers. Can you believe she can go outside in January? This weather has been crazy!

Hobby: Being nosy! Madeline likes to know what is going on at all times. See evidence below. This is her spying someone out at Costco, checking out their grocery habits.

Favorite night time event: BATH!! Madeline loves splashing around, playing with her bath toys. It's always smiles in the water!

Favorite friend: Stella! Madeline loves her puppy. She likes to pet Stella, chase Stella, feed Stella, sit on Stella and laugh at Stella. Here's a sweet moment between them.

Madeline is quite a little girl- very active and very fun. We love watching her personality develop. I can't wait to see how her current "favorites" change over the next weeks, months, years!

ONE YEAR CELEBRATION

We celebrated Madeline's one year birthday a few weeks ago. We kept it small and simple with our immediately families and Kyle and Danielle. K and D are Madeline's future in-laws, so it worked. :)

Here are a few photos from Princess Maddie's big day. I just realized we didn't get to get a picture of Kyle and Danielle that day. So, go check out D's blog to see her and that sweet baby in her belly!

What is this? I guess I will give it a try.

Disney World!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I spent last week in Disney World with my grandma, mom and sister. We spent a full day at each park and were able to ride all of the rides with little to no wait. My sister and I rode Space Mountain four times! It was so nice to spend this time with the girls- we laughed a lot and had a wonderful time!! It was tough leaving Chris and Madeline at home, but Chris did a fantastic job. I know it was a lot of work but he is super dad!

If you're thinking about going to Disney World, January is a great time to visit. The parks were nearly empty and the price was incredibly low. I am already planning our first family trip- I cannot wait to introduce Madeline to Disney!!

Here are a few photos from my trip.

Loving life in the toddler room!

As I mentioned in the last post, Madeline has moved up to the one year old room. I was very nervous, but she has done fabulous! She is more tired in the evenings and has been in bed every night by 7:30...but I think that's because she plays so hard at school! She eats breakfast, lunch and snack at the table (sitting in her own chair!), drinks milk from a sippy, only has one nap (2 hours the last two days!!), and plays, plays, PLAYS. She gets to go to the gym and ride in Little Tykes cars and then has arts and crafts time, as well as book time. The teachers told me she sits very good during circle time. There is a girl in the room, Aspen, who they said walks Madeline around the room. Takes her hand and just walks with her. Maddie is the smallest in her class, so Aspen might think she is a baby doll. Not sure. Either way, she seems really happy. Which makes mommy and daddy happy!

Here are a few photos from Madeline playing with her Noah's Ark tonight. Look how big she is!

Ringing in 2012!

The last few weeks have been so fun! Madeline had her first Christmas AND her first birthday. Chris celebrated his 28th birthday and has had two weeks off work to relax. We have had a lot of family time.

Here are a few photos from Maddie's Christmas.

Ooh, I've never seen this toy before!

The next Top Chef, Madeline Hughes!

Mom and her girls

I love my new ride!

That is the biggest ball I have ever seen. It's shiny. I would like to put it in my mouth.

Chris also had a birthday- he turned 28 on the 28th. He has really enjoyed his time off work. After such a hard year, he really deserved some down time. He goes back on Tuesday and starts his new job as a Client Energy Manager. I know he'll do great!

Madeline also has big changes coming her way--she is graduating to the toddler room at her daycare. She will be getting new teachers and making new friends. There are a lot of changes to her new room that might be a challenge (no bottles, no cribs, no high chairs!) but there are a lot of changes I know she'll love- outdoor time, arts and crafts, more room to RUN, etc, etc. We'll keep you posted on her transition.

2011 was a fantastic, wonderful year for the Hughes family. Chris and I cannot wait to see what 2012 brings!!

Much love from us to you!
