Tap Tap Tap

Hello from rainy rainy RAINY Kentucky. It has been raining forever it feels like. Maddie said to me yesterday, "I can't wait until summer. This rain is driving me crazy." I hated telling her this IS summer, just a rainy summer.

We've still been having fun though!

When we got back from vacation, Maddie liked playing "beach" in the garage.

I took the girls to the Science Center to see the new children's area. They loved it.

At the museum, a man came up to me and looked at my littles and said, "God Bless You." I guess he didn't think he could handle Maddie and Sydney by himself! HA!

We had dinner with my parents and Chris was so confused as to this contraption.

My dear sweet husband. In our circle of friends, we always tease him for being such an old soul. He had never even heard of a selfie stick.

The other morning I left Sydney eating her breakfast so I could go brush my teeth. I came back and saw this.
I seriously don't know what to do with her. Maddie never climbed like this.

Speaking of Maddie, she has been all over her dance lessons lately. We play dance class a lot at home.

I wish these pictures weren't blurry but Sydney had been playing with my phone and I think she got something on my camera.

A new snow cone place opened right by All About Kids so we got some before swim lessons yesterday. These are the kids sizes...they were huge! And they loved it, of course.

Hilton Head Professional Pictures

We hired a photographer to take some family photos of us on vacation and got some really great shots.

The whole gang.

I have no idea what Sydney found so funny. She's a riot.

Our girls.

Love him!

As we were wrapping up, the photographer asked us if we wanted any pictures with just Sydney. She said she knows that sometimes second kids don't get as many pictues.

I was trying to get Sydney to smile but she only wanted to hang upside down. She doesn't love the camera as much as Madeline. Even when it wasn't Maddie's turn she was right there, ready to jump in and pose.

And this is pretty much a perfect shot of Dane and Maddie. They are usually pretty silly when they are together!

So happy to have these pictures!

Wrapping up Hilton Head

We got to our vacation house on Saturday night and quickly fell into an easy routine of going to the beach in the morning, coming home in the afternoon so Quinn and Sydney could rest and then dinner.

Maddie loves to put on sunscreen. It's a weird addiction.

Maddie also loves bathing suits. Sydney has so many cute hand me downs, but the pediatrician really wanted me to try to keep her skin covered (her antibiotic made her super photosensitive) so she wore swim shirts most of the week.

Sydney was a little meh about the beach. She refused to walk on it. Period. But, she would sit in the sand and really loved when we would take her in the ocean.

Maddie loved everything about it. Getting sandy, jumping the waves, etc.

Maddie brought her flags and loved castle building.

One night we hired a professional photographer to come take pictures of everyone. The kids looked so cute!

We had fun on the Harbourtown playground.

On our last beach day we got ice cream on the beach. This made my ice cream-loving kids very happy.

Eating my Mickey Bar. Love me some Disney!

Nana bought the kids matching outfits for the Fourth--how sweet are they?

After a great week, we got on the road on Saturday at 7 AM and headed home. We shaved an hour off our drive time so it took us 11 hours. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought but I can't say I want to do it again anytime soon.
Note: Sydney's pacifier is getting taken away when she turns 2. She's going to hate me.

We got home in time to celebrate the fourth with some friends and neighbors. Thanks nana and grandpa for a wonderful vacation!!

Hilton Head, Part 1

We are back from a wonderful week in Hilton Head! We had so much fun!

Let's recap. Last Friday we loaded up the Suburban and hit the road around 8. Everyone was in good spirits.

After a few hours, I hopped in the back to entertain the girls.

Maddie loved this new travel memory game.

Both girls napped and it was great. I got back in the front seat and read. For about THIRTY minutes, because that's all Sydney napped.

Nope. I'm not napping, people! I prefer to take selfies!

We stopped for supper at Panera.

We got to our hotel around 8 (a solid 12 hour trek, if you're doing the math) and I mistakenly assumed the girls would want to go to sleep.

I was wrong. They wanted to jump on the bed and run around screaming.

Finally we got them settled and got some rest. The next day, our house wasn't quite ready so we hit the outlet mall.

We met nana and grandpa and Laura and Cory at the house and the kiddos hopped in the pool.

It was really nice to have our own pool all week. Madeline swam every day and I'm so amazed at how quickly she has taken to the water. She just jumps in and swims across the pool now!
Standing on grandpa's shoulders before jumping.

And, of course, the girls loved spending the week with their cousins. Dane taught Maddie the peace sign.

One of my goals for vacation was to get some new family pictures. This was one of our first attempts.

Sydney being Sydney.

This one is pretty sweet.

Somewhere along the way, my little Maddie grew up.

Cousin love!

Maddie has grown out naps but she took several on vacation. After playing all morning at the beach she would pass out. She was actually giving Chris a hug one day and fell asleep. HA!

We spent most of the time at the ocean but we had some fun at the house too!

Beach pics to come!
