Big Girl Sydney

Little Sydney is pushing 19 months old. She is starting to talk more (she has added "please" and "thank you" this week!) and is always up to imitate her sister. Maddie is a dipper (ranch, ketchup, you name it) so now Sydney dips.
 Nuggets into ketchup!

Maddie was making cupcakes in the playroom kitchen so what does Sydney do? Pulls a chair over and makes some for herself.

Both of my girls are very independent. It can be a really great thing (Madeline has been completely dressing herself since she turned 2, has been buckling herself in and out of her carseat since 2 1/2, etc) BUT it can be a maddening thing too. Sydney wanted no help making her cupcakes so I had to sit by her to make sure she didn't fall off her chair.

How cute is this? Sydney set up her babies and gave them each a piece of cake.

After dance this week, we were waiting on some popcorn. Sydney, of course, did exactly what Maddie did and watched some basketball.
I love watching the relationship my little ladies have! Sydney really looks up to her big sister and, for the most part, Madeline has a lot of patience with her. There are some days though….

Speaking of my big girl Maddie, we put on her bike streamers and she was JAZZED.
She now has a horn, bell and streamers on her ride.

She was NOT jazzed, however, when she looked out the window and saw this.
Little lambie had been left in the garage in her stroller when Stella took her for a mud bath. Madeline happened to look outside and, let's just say, there were a LOT of tears. I washed off lambie but she didn't really survive the attack so we'll be getting a replacement soon. This was our little lambie (we have a big one too) so there's that.

Easter Weekend!

Chris took Friday off to kick off Easter weekend. We weren't sure what we were going to do, but were planning for a fun day with the girls. Except...Sydney woke up with a terrible cough. It sounded very croup-y, but she had no other symptoms. She had no fever and was a pretty happy camper.  I wouldn't have worried too much but decided to run her up to the pediatrician knowing we had a holiday weekend ahead of us.

Selfies while we wait!

Kisses!

The ped was pretty sure she had croup but was confused as to why she had no other symptoms. Then she asked if it was possible if Sydney could have swallowed something. I told her honestly that I didn't think Sydney had but it wasn't outside of the realm of possibility, given this was my little ninja Sydney we were talking about. She recommended a chest x-ray thinking something lodged could be causing the cough and raspy breathing. So, we headed to the hospital.

If you're keeping count, this was our second trip in three weeks to the hospital. Oh, you're not keeping count? Well, Anthem sure is. Just doing my part to hit my deductible and keep doctors in business, y'all.

Of course, I started to panic. What if she HAD swallowed something?
Walking to radiology.

I was certain a barbie shoe was going to show up on the x-ray but fortunately, she was declared "free of foreign objects." Just a terrible cough.

Maddie and daddy had some fun time while Sydney and I were out.
Animal train!

Saturday night, we celebrated Easter with Nana, Grandpa, Laura, Cory and the cousins!

Maddie LOVED the egg hunt!

Sydney was kind of "meh" about it.

Everyone say cheese!
Yeah, right.

Showing off the loot!

Sisters!

We had a yummy yummy dinner of filet and crab legs! Maddie and Dane both tried the crab and loved it.

These two are so sweet.
Crazy. Rowdy. But sweet.

Saturday night we watched our beloved CATS in the Final Four. Tara made us some cat paws cupcakes.
Sadly, this wasn't our year. Maybe next year!

On Sunday we celebrated Easter at grandma and grandpa's house.

Maddie loved finding the BIG eggs.

Jazzed about her bike streamers. She's been wearing me out wanting some bike streamers. Fortunately, the Easter Bunny was aware.

Sydney was so sweet.

Grandpa had to help her.

This picture keeps cracking me up. I didn't realize you couldn't see the baby and no one told me! Sydney is in there!

Pretty sure Tia was trying to steal some chocolate eggs.

What a great weekend celebrating our risen Savior with family!

Cousin Spring Break

Dane and Quinn are in town spending some of their Spring Break with nana and grandpa. The kids are having a great time together!

First we had pizza for supper one night and I tried to snag some photos. We are getting SO close to having all four look and smile. When we do, it's going to be epic!

Sydney thinks she's surrounded by a bunch of sillies!

We had a fun morning at the zoo!

Quinn and Syd waving at the tiger.

Sydney is getting very brave!

A Tea Party and Two Cats Victories!

On Thursday, my mom, grandma, sister and I headed to Sister's Tea Parlor for a little lunch. We had a great time!!

Sister selfie on the way to tea.

Mercedes really wanted us to dress up at the parlor and talk in English accents. We agreed to one of those.

Notice she gave me a really ridiculous hat and picked out a cute bow for her.

The decorations are so nice here!

We each got a pot of tea and then enjoyed lunch together.
YUM!

On Thursday night, daddy and I stayed up to watch the CATS game. We were up by more than 20 pretty much the entire game so it was kind of a snooze fest.
I told Chris that the game was OK but I kind of wanted some suspense. (I ate those words later!)

Friday morning, the girls and I ran some errands.
Maddie got to play dress-up at the Middletown Target.

We bought some egg dye and had a fun time Friday night dyeing eggs!

On Saturday, we ate lunch at Chuys…so good.
Maddie is definitely a Mexican food lover like her mommy. So far Sydney seems to be too!

On Saturday night, our friends Dave and Tara came over to watch the UK-Notre Dame game. It was a nail-biter until the very end. We all were going crazy. Especially Stella.
We're going to the Final Four!!

On Sunday, we headed to Kyle and Danielle's for some play time.
Maddie had just given a big concert but I didn't catch her in time. You can see her walking away from the mic while Hadley and Hudson clap for her.

Lunch!

Kyle and I letting the babies play on the counter together.
Danielle texted me this later and I told her it looked like Kyle and I were married. Sloane and Sydney are going to cause some ruckus later!

Speaking of my youngest, I caught her trying to escape her crib this morning. She had one foot on the rail and was desperately trying to get over. It's gonna be awhile because she's still so little but I hate that she's already trying. I knew she was going to be a crib climber!

Finally, Maddie and I did a little shopping. (and my third child came too).

Looking forward to a great week!
