Father's Day Weekend 2014

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend!

On Saturday morning we had breakfast at My Favorite Muffin before buying new car seats. We had to get new seats for each girl because of the accident. Madeline took the opportunity to get a pink flower seat and she is JAZZED about it.  (We bought her gender neutral stuff before we know we'd be an all girl family... so a carseat with pink flowers was a BIG DEAL.)

Loading up the seats!

So happy in her girly seat with a cup holder! BIG stuff.

That afternoon we went to nana and grandpa's for Father's Day. Maddie LOVES their pool!

Then the kids helped Grandpa open his presents!

Laura came over and helped me decorate our living room bookshelf. Chris is building this stuff faster than I can keep up!

On Sunday, we woke up daddy with muffins in bed. Earlier in the week, we had painted a mug and plate for him and baked them in the oven.

Then we had lunch at grandma and grandpa's house with tia.  Madeline loves playing with my old toys that my mom has saved. One of them is "troller skater" who is a 12 inch..well...troll on skates. He's actually super creepy and skates around on the hardwood playing really loud music. Maddie somehow broke troller while we were eating, so we made the top half of him a puppet.

And Madeline laughed and laughed and laughed at all of the stuff troller did.

Then we did a little fun photo shoot with Grandpa, his daughters and one grand daughter.

Maddie wanted us to make mad faces. No clue why. She just said, "Let's make a mad face!"

Sweet Sydney was sleeping so she had her own fun when she woke up!
Her very first selfie. This blogging mama is so proud!!

After a nap, Maddie helped daddy plant!

And, by "plant", she got top soil and mulch all over her.

Sister time in the pool.

Sydney would like for everyone to know that yes, she does realize her sister wore that suit at 18 months. No, she doesn't care that she's only 9 months.

What a great Father's Day Weekend!! Much much love to my dad, my father in law and my husband for being three amazing examples of fathers to myself and my children. We love you!

9 months old!!

Baby Sydney was born on Friday the 13th in September. Yesterday, on Friday the 13th (of June) sweet baby Sydney turned 9 months! She is such a delight!

Am I the only one who wants to squeeze her feet?

Sydney is 9 months old going on 5! She has been crawling for awhile and is now pulling up on everything in sight. She's taking steps too! She likes to feed herself and she loves all fruit. Not a fan of green beans or peas, but who is?!

She's talking a lot and starting to wave. She is a BIG girl, which only makes me devastatingly a little sad. She loves her sister and follows her all around the house.

On her 9 month day, we went to Chik Fil A for lunch. Y'all. It was MAYHEM. I take the girls to CFA a lot, but never when school has been out. It was a circus in the place. Do you ever wish you had invented Chik Fil A? Because I do.

A bathroom selfie. It was the only time I could take our picture. The rest of the time I was just trying to keep my children in my eyesight.

Sydney was WORN out after shopping and lunch. Who can sleep like this?

Happy 9 months sweet Sydney girl. You are my little girl and will always be my baby!

Huber's and a Hudson visit

We had an eventful weekend. On Friday night, we got into a bad car wreck.
It was so scary but we feel very fortunate. We were stopped, turning into our neighborhood when a lady slammed into us at full speed. She never braked. She was taken to the hospital so we are not sure why she hit us. They are still investigating so I'll guess we will find out more later when the police report comes out. Chris took the brunt of the pain and is left with black eyes and cuts on his head. The girls were snug in their car seats and got perfect checks from Kosair.  Now we're dealing with a lot of soreness and insurance agencies, but it could have been a lot worse so we just praise God for keeping an eye on us.

Moving on...

We had a special visitor last week. This mama deer gave birth in our next door neighbors yard so the sweetest baby deer was sleeping behind their rock for awhile. Maddie and I walked over and saw the little baby. The mama and baby hung around for a couple of days but then left for the woods.

I didn't get a pic of the baby...this was taken from my kitchen and baby was too little.

Thursday night, Tia came over to play.

On Friday, we took Sydney to Huber's for her first visit!!

Maddie is an old pro at Huber's.

If you feed them, they will flock to you!!

Heading out to the patch!

Grabbing her box to go strawberry pick!

The yummy loot!

Baby wearing. I am a poster child for it. Love the bjorn!

We had a great lunch at Chuy's! (Yes, we're obsessed.)

Chillin in the car after dropping everyone off.

After a rest, we had some dress up and play time!

I mean seriously...she is SO CUTE.

Maddie talked daddy into Graeter's.

After Graeter's we got into the wreck.

On Saturday, we had plans with Kyle and Danielle to go to the Wings for Kids Air Show. We ended up just having them over for lunch and letting the kids play at our house. We were still exhausted from the wreck and really sore.

Maddie and Hudson sprayed each other with water bottles and played in the pool for a long time.

Sharing a snack on the chair.

It was a busy and exhausting (and scary) weekend. We are ready for a calm week!
