Our Week in Pictures!

Secret Pal Season has started again! I love getting surprise goodies from a secret neighbor!

We had the Fall Festival at Madeline's school this week. The students were asked to dress as their favorite story book character. Madeline wanted to be Little Red Riding Hood.
Side note: We've never read this story so I had no idea this was her favorite character. :)

Baby sis was Snow White. She wanted a cape like Maddie. :)

We got to trick or treat around the school - Maddie's teacher was dressed a bright pink crayon!

We played some games in the gym and took a few photos!

We saw our neighbors!

Sydney was cracking me up the other morning. She insisted on brining her huge backpack to preschool, with water bottle, because "Mom, I have to bring this because all of the kindergarteners have a pack pack and water bottle."

We had a fun afternoon at cousin Charli's birthday party at Sky Zone!

And finally, a random funny for you. I was at my parents house earlier in the week watching Deal or No Deal. And, during a commercial break a new Family Feud commercial aired, starring yours truly.

I'm not sure this will ever go away.

Boo at the Zoo!

We headed out on Saturday for our annual Boo at the Zoo trip, and this year Dane and Quinn came too!

Driving the UPS truck!

We could barely keep up with the kids - they were so excited!

UPS is a big sponsor - I think Grandpa Hughes would love to see one of these kids be a UPS employee some day!

Dane on the go!

Scared!

Enjoying one final treat before heading out!

This and That...

There's not really a theme to this post - just a catch-up of what's been going on with my crew.

Maddie and I went shopping and she loved seeing a pic Hudson and family. They are in an advertisement at the Paddock and Maddie thought it was the coolest thing!

We bought a coconut at Kroger and cracked it, in an attempt to get the coconut milk out. We had read on a blog how kids loved doing this. Well, the kids loved cracking it...

But, the inside looked SUPER funky and the milk/juice wasn't that yummy.

We had the last of our summer popsicles out on the porch with our neighbors.

I picked Maddie up from school and we got a pink Gigi's cupcake...after the flu shot. Sydney got her shot at her well-check so I took Maddie separately. She was not happy with me, but only cried a few tears. When I told her she could pick any cupcake she wanted, she cheered right up!

I go into the office about once a month. This month my department took a lunch cruise on the Spirit of the Jefferson. We had a great afternoon!

Pretty view!

Maddie and Sydney had dental visits. This was Sydney's first visit so she sat in my lap. She did amazing, much better than I anticipated. She got all of her teeth cleaned and had no cavities!

Maddie did everything on her own.

Maddie came home from school one day and did her usual routine - a snack and the Kindle. She needs some mellow time before talking to me about her day. One day I walked out of my office and she was knocked out! This was the first day this has happened since school began.

I'm so glad Maddie is adjusting so well to Kindergarten. I am also thankful for my Fridays with this little monkey.

This weekend I went to the Y for a run. I didn't get all of my miles complete before Kids Club closed so Maddie joined me on the track. She loved it!

That night at dinner, Maddie became the green bean monster and wanted a picture.

So, monkey see, monkey do....little Sister became the pear monster.

And that's life lately!

Zoo day with grandma! And a wild golf cart ride!

On Saturday morning we had a girls day at the zoo
with grandma.

We did all of our usual favorites!

The train!

The carousel!

Fit in the gorilla mold!

They had started setting up for the Halloween party so we enjoyed taking a few pictures.

Humana family!

Sunday, the funniest thing happened. We were planning to go to my aunt's house for lunch. We stopped first at Cabela's. Normally I stay in the car but since the girls wanted to see the fish we went in. And...it was LADIES DAY. So, we got all kinds of swag. I got a gift card and a bag of Cabela's branded products (chapstick, playing cards, etc). The girls got bouncy balls, bracelets, etc. Chris used my gift card on a new knife...so I guess we all came out winners. Ha! The best part was that the Kentucky Network of Outdoor Women was there signing up women for their club. They asked me what my favorite activity was. My options were advanced fishing, rifle shooting, hunting, etc. The only thing I could think of was shopping at an outlet mall.

But I said fishing.

And now they keep emailing me about joining the club. Um, no.
 The girls with their loot!

My aunt just did a huge remodel of her house so we went to see it and have lunch. Us older gals took her golf cart for a spin...

And things got a little hairy. On one hill she legit said, "It's hit or miss on this one."

What a fun weekend with family!
