Let's see. Where did I leave off?
Oh yes, Sydney's mosquito bite. So, Syd got bit Sunday around 3 pm. Before bed that night her eye looked great. A tiny little dot of a bite was at the corner of her eye. When I walked into her room Monday morning, I gasped.
She was happy as could be but it was painful to look at her. Her eye was pretty swollen and red. I sent her pictures to my nurse mom and aunt. They asked if that was the "peak" of her swelling.
I said I thought *maybe*.
Except it wasn't. She slowly got worse through the course of the morning.
After the diagnosis last summer of skeeter syndrome we had a good plan for how to prevent and treat bug bites. Except we hadn't had one by her eye before. So the ped wanted her to come in.
Waiting on Dr. Robson. The doctor said that Sydney's eye wasn't infected but he was concerned it would get infected so he went ahead and put her on antibiotic. We had to two days of benadryl as well. And, 24 hours later, we looked MUCH Better.
Sydney drew a lot of attention the few days she was swollen. People had no problem asking me what was going on with her face. Most people thought she had gotten hit or fallen down. She was so cute. She heard me explaining it was a mosquito bite (to which people were literally like WHAT?!) so she got used to answering people, "I got skeetos."
Oh my little girl and her skeeto sensitivity!
And, 2 days later, we looked almost normal!
So, we are back to watching little lady like a hawk. She doesn't go outside without bug spray. So, let's hope that we don't have any more major issues with those pesky mosquitos!
