BREAKOUT!

On Thursday, my work team played one of the Breakout Louisville games. We had a great time!

There are three different themed games but the premise of each is that you are locked in a room and have one hour to break out. We broke out with only 50 seconds left. At the end we were screaming and jumping up and down, so it was pretty hysterical. It was a good team building event as we had to work together to solve clues to break out of our room.

We also did some impact planning for 2016.

Since we all work from home it's always nice to get together!

Maddie had dinner at Lizzy's house this week, her first time at a friends house without us (other than Hudson who is more like family).
The girls had a hat dinner party. Only 1 of those girls is mine...the neighbors have the other 4.
Shoo-wee!

Chris and I got invited to the UK-Auburn game with Dave and Tara. Dave's parents have club seats, so it was a pretty fun time! We had free food and amazing seats in the 19th row!

We had a blast. A good time with good friends!

We didn't get home until 1 AM. I was basically a zombie Friday morning. How did I do this in college? Regularly?! Chris had taken the day off (he found out he still has like 16 vacation days to use over the next few months!) so we pulled our butts out of bed because we had to get back to the real world.

You know, like parenting these monkeys.

Syd has been on a huge train kick lately so we knew we had to take her to Pizza King. She was obsessed. She spent the whole lunch watching for the train and laughing when it came by.

On Friday night we went to dinner with nana and Laura and Quinn.
 Cousins!

The girl cousins with nana!

We are about to head to bed and I'm prepared to get cozy and sleep in my eskimo gear. Supposedly we're going to drop to 30 degrees this weekend, so I'm in a deep state of depression. I am NOT ready for Winter and for it to be dark at 6 PM. We will sure miss being outside!

Happy Friday!

I want...sissy home.

Madeline started preschool full time last week (well I did let her stay home on Friday for play dates). She did really well and learned a ton. She can now count to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. I'm so glad she is transitioning well!

We did have one little household member who was missing her sister. Maddie wakes Sydney up every day with me. I did let Syd sleep in on Monday so when I went to get her, she says, "Where's Maddie?" I told her Maddie was school. She was very confused and said, "I want...sissy home." It was so sweet and a little sad.

That's not to say we didn't enjoy our mommy-Sydney time.

First, we tamed the bed head.

We went to the library for story time and she loved not sharing a lap.
Shaking her maraca during music time.

Then we had lunch at Chipotle.

We had a great Wednesday just the two of us! On Friday, Maddie stayed home to play with us. We had a morning play date and an afternoon play date. And I got barely any pictures! UGH! I was too busy catching up with the mamas!

Lunch at Mary Jane's with big girls Harper and Maddie and little girls Elizabeth, Sydney and Juliet.

Then we played with our next neighbors. Sydney and Brooke had a tea party that went on forever.

Then my duo squeezed into a storage container.
The weather has been rotating between cool and warm. We've been taking a lot of family walks. At the end of the walk, Maddie likes to walk Stella, leaving Syd alone in the wagon.

One night we sat on the porch eating our Disney suckers Aunt Laura brought us.

On Saturday, Maddie and I ran some errands. She circled items in the American Girl catalog that she loved. I've been thinking about not having a birthday party for her this year and, instead, taking her to the American Girl doll store. Just not sure if we should wait until 6. Need to figure that out!!

Finding another high dollar item, I'm sure.

Maddie and daddy worked on a bird house.

Saturday night we did smores with our neighbors. The girls ran around the back yard, high on marshmallow and chocolate. All we could see were their glow sticks. We kept counting and if we saw 4 glowsticks, we knew we were good!

Sunday, Chris and I went to watch the Ironman Finish Line. It was awesome! These athletes are very impressive. If Chris's half Ironman goes well next summer, I think Ironman Louisville may be in his sights for 2017. Because he's a crazy person.  And, knowing Chris, if he sets his mind to it, he will do it!

Apple Orchard Fun

Last Sunday, we took Maddie and Hudson for a big kid date to Huber's.

Silly faces on the tractor out to the orchard.

Best buds!

After a fun morning at Huber's we had lunch at Pizza King.

It was great spending this morning with our big girl. She started preschool full time this week so I will have less "stay at home mama" days with her. I'm happy to have some alone time with Sydney, and I'm looking forward to just focusing on my littlest, but we will miss our Maddie!

Zoo Halloween Party - Kicking off the Season!

On Saturday, we took the girls to the Zoo to kick off the Halloween season.

Sydney was already a little skeptical walking in.
Maybe she didn't love dressing as a watermelon?

Maddie, on the other hand, was super psyched.

We met the princesses first.

And then met our current favorite princesses!

And Olaf.

Sydney wasn't having it. I tried to hold her with the Toy Story cast.

Nope.

I didn't want to torture her and have her crying in every picture so we just let her do her own thing while Maddie met the characters.
Frankly, guys, I'm just a little suspicious of all this.

Once she found out people would put candy in her bucket she was all smiles.

Maddie and Ariel.

Grandma's favorite movie of all time.

Maddie having fun in the hay maze.

Superheroes!

It was a little chilly but we had a great time. The place was pretty much empty!
