Playing Outside

Maddie is an outdoor girl!! She is happy doing ANYTHING outside.

Maddie decided it was time for some spring cleaning. She pulled her slide out and scrubbed it down. She asked me about 6,148 times if we could get her pool out. It's warm but not THAT warm yet!

AND! Everyone I know has been talking about the movie Frozen for the last 6 months. We bought the dvd this weekend and let Maddie watch it Saturday morning. She got up at the CRACK of dawn so we  told her she had to rest a bit before she could get moving. (Because, once that girl gets moving, she doesn't stop!!)

 She stayed glued like this for a solid hour before she got a little antsy. It is such a cute movie! She's already asked to watch it again but we're saving it for a rainy day. 

No Sydney's were harmed in the making of this blog post...

Sydney is ON THE MOVE. No, she's not crawling. She's rolling. And, she's rolling everywhere! In fact, I just followed her around the other day for a bit.

Rolled in to the easel. Now, mind you, I moved her immediately after snapping each picture. So she never got hurt...but boy is she EVERYWHERE. She will straight up roll over animals, little toys, etc. She's like a mini mack-track!

As for Madeline, we're working on giving her some responsibility. Here she is picking up her toys.

We're doing little things (putting shoes/coat in her cubby, putting dishes/cups in the sink, putting books on shelf, etc, etc.) and hopefully soon she'll be cooking dinner and taking the trash out! ;)

We had a nice day and got to play outside a little bit!

I love this picture of Sydney because I thinks she looks a teensy bit like me. When Maddie was born she looked just like me. Then, as she got older she started looking like Chris. (Ok, so I don't think she looks like either of us but I'm assured repeatedly she's a mini-Chris.)  Anyways, I think Sydney looks a bit like me here. I texted it to my mom and Danielle and they said "yeah...maybe...." which basically means they think I'm crazy. Sigh.

And finally, I leave you with this. I was so confused as to where our milk went this morning. Until I found it in my lazy susan. I guess I put it there sometime yesterday. And, that's why we're stopping with two kids. My life is so crazy I fear I'd park my car in my neighbors garage, forget my name or lose my mind with more!

Where did the weekend go?!

Thursday, Maddie and I went to do the grocery shopping. Turns out, it was a kids night at Kroger so she decorated a cookie and got a bag full of goodies. They also had face painting. Who knew?!

Friday, I took the girls to the mall for a play date with Soley and her siblings.

Maddie is super in to her lunch box right now and love packing picnic lunches. So she had packed a lunch and ate it at the mall.

My grandma, the snow bird, is back in town so we had our usual Mexican fiesta on Saturday.

 (Poor Sydney--she always passes out before we remember to take the pics. Maddie was nearly there too at this point.)

Then we had back - to - back parties as Hudson came over to watch the CATS play in the Final Four.

Sunday, we had Rohan and Rhea's birthday party!

 And finally, I leave you with this overdose of cuteness. Saturday morning I was snuggling with my girls when Madeline started to get silly. (I swear that girl has so much energy!) Sydney was laughing hysterically at her! Baby giggles are the best!!

I also have to share this delicious recipe I tried the other day. I served these garlic cheese pull-aparts with spaghetti. We all gobbled these up!

It's the weekend!!! 

Sydney's Six Month Check-Up

Sweet Sydney had her 6 month check-up this past week. Overall, everything was great!!

Sydney Stats

Weight: 15.5 lbs (30%)

Height: 25.5 in (25%)

Growing like a weed, that baby!

The doctor's only concern was Sydney's hips. Turns out, she has asymmetrical rolls in her legs, which is a marker for hip dysplasia. Because Sydney had a hip click at birth (that ultimately went away) the pediatrician wanted her to have an x-ray. We headed to Kosair for an x-ray. I did some research and tried not to get to worried. But...we got the call the next day that she checked out just fine! 

 (I guess she's just a little chunky. Ain't nothing wrong that!)
