On Friday, everyone stayed together at Ober Gatlinburg. On Saturday, we all split up to do different things. My parents and grandparents went to Cades Cove to looks for bears. My aunt and her crew went to ride go-carts. My four went to the Ripley's Aquarium and it was awesome!
Before we left we snagged a group shot on the deck.
(Sydney didn't want to give up her banana.)
My grandparents bought the kids stuffed bears and Sydney hasn't let hers out of her sight.
At the start of the aquarium.
The big attraction is the walk through tunnel where there's a moving sidewalk that propels you under all kinds of sea life and sharks. The girls loved this!
When you got on the moving sidewalk, you got a sticker. Sydney really wanted hers on her belly button.
After the shark exhibit the girls got to touch some fish.
Then, dress up like fish!
Fish face!
All I could think about was head lice. EEE.
There were these really cool small aquariums that had pop up windows. Maddie and Sydney loved climbing under these and popping up "in" the aquarium.
This was one of our favorites. Japanese crabs that were ENORMOUS - they have the longest leg span of any arthropod.
Maddie loved the penguins.
Sydney and I in the pop up tunnel watching the penguins.
Side note: Finger was in the mouth ALL weekend. We've got 2 back teeth and a front tooth cutting at the same time.
That night we all watched American Pharaoh race to a Triple Crown.
I told everyone to act like we were still watching the race and only Maddie and I did it. Everyone else made fun of me.
I'm cracking up at Sydney here. For her aquarium souvenir she picked out a mermaid backpack and wore it the whole day.
We had some hot tub time!
And Maddie loved spending the weekend with tia who has left us for her Disney World internship. Tia sent me this one night and I laughed and laughed.
